Why Middlesbrough Business Forum?

Middlesbrough, like many towns has suffered from selected economic declines since the 1980’s as well as negative press and perceptions.

The regeneration of Middlesbrough’s built environment and economy offers a genuine opportunity for the town to be repositioned in a positive and compelling way that motivates residents, businesses and investors.

Regeneration funds are revitalising the overall town and a positive perception is being supported through the Love Middlesbrough campaign.

Middlesbrough has embraced the opportunity to be reborn as a thriving economic and cultural town not only in its own right, but also within the strategic development of other Tees Valley towns.

Middlesbrough Council alongside partner organisations places big emphasis on supporting Middlesbrough based businesses. Part of this work involves the development of a Business Forum for the town, whereby the business community can inform the council of the issues facing it and the council can consult with the business community on upcoming work, projects.

In addition, Middlesbrough Council wishes to use the Business Forum to inspire the local business community to achieve great results, and promote the fact Middlesbrough is ‘Open for Business’.
